THE pH FACTOR- ALKALIZE OR DIE!
The common health issues that beset most people like viruses, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and sugar levels, hormonal imbalance,bad genes or aging,whether you call it over-acidity, acid-overload, or acidosis, it amounts to too much tissue acid waste in your body, and its a "real silent killer."
Medical experts agree that there is almost a 100% certainty that you will be acidic if you eat mostly a typical Western style diet of acid-forming foods: red meat , cheeses , pasta , refined sugar , fast foods , starches , artificial sweeteners , and drink alcohol,coffee , or sodas , taking drugs ,breathing toxic air etc. So day by day these toxic substances (preservatives,colorings and flavorings, hydrogenated oils , etc) are piling up inside our cells and fluids.
In order for your body to function properly and remain healthy , your body requires a balance between positively charged ions (acid forming) and negatively charged ions 9alkaline forming) This ratio is referred to us pH. A pH of 1 is strongly acidic , a pH of 14 is strongly alkaline, and a pH of 7 would be considered to be neutral. The ideal pH would be somewhere between 7 and 7.4. the higher pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is. The lower the pH reading the more acid and oxygen deprived the fluid is. This balance is critical for the overall health of the body.
It is also widely accepted that the body fluids of healthy people are alkaline whereas the body fluids of unhealthy people are acidic, and that is why majority of people in western societies do suffer from over-acidity. Over-acidity=catabolic (low energy, body wears down , and finally breaks down). Alkalinity=anabolic (high energy , body can rebuild , repair and restore itself). Every sick person is over-acidic , and that is a fact.
Specifically, an acidic balance will decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease its ability to repair damaged cells, decrease its ability to detoxify heavy metals, cause tumor cells thrive, and cause the body to be more susceptible to fatigue and illness. Our bodies simply cannot fight disease if they are not properly balanced. So, no matter what modality you choose to address your health problem, it wiil not be effective until the pH level is up.

If your pH is 7 to 7.5 Your body fluids are in a healthy range.
If your pH is between 6 and 6.5 ,you are becoming acidic, mineral deficient (mainly Calcium and Magnesium). You are likely to be developing one or more of the 150 degenerative diseases.The diet should be addressed, with a focus on fruit and vegetables, while at the same time discontinuing strong acidifiers such as sodas, hard cheeses, whole wheat and red meat from the diet, for starters.
If your pH is below 6, you are highly acidic, very mineral deficient, and have probably contracted at least one degenerative disease.
Acidosis(an extended time in the acid pH state0, is the primary indicator of Calcium Deficiency Disease, and it can result in rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lupus, tuberculosis,osteoporosis, high blood pressure, most cancers and many more. Balancing the pH is a major step towards well-being.
Urinary pH Test:
The pH of urine indicates how the body is working to maintain the proper pH of the blood. The pH of urine indicates the efforts of the body via the kidneys, adrenals, lungs and gonads, to regulate pH through the buffer salts and hormones. Urine can provide an accurate picture of body chemistry, because the kidneys filter out the buffer salts of pH regulation and provide values based on what the body is eliminating. Urine pH can vary from around 4.5 to 9 for its extremes, but the ideal range is 5.8 to 6.8. Testing urine after the first voiding of the day is recommended.

Process carbs are always going to make our pH acidic and that is one of the many reasons why their high intake is soooo bad. Consume them as little as you can handle and counteract the negative effects of these silent killers with lots of fresh vegetables, as slightly cooked as possible, and EXERCISE. Nutrition and physical activity are my panacea and make me a very healthy woman. I thought I would share my secret. Thanks for your informative Hub.
I drink about one litre of water, mixed with pure lemon juice, per day. I believe that the lemon has an alkaline effect on the body. Anyway, I am never ill; no colds, 'flu etc!
